Terms of Service — s1ft

Effective date: October 9, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of s1ft, a macOS application developed and operated by Pavel Azaletskiy, an individual trading as s1ft ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using s1ft, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using s1ft in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and us.

2. Description of Service

s1ft is a native macOS meeting assistant that records system and microphone audio during meetings, transcribes speech on-device, and — upon your request — generates summaries and communication coaching. s1ft captures audio natively on your Mac. It does not join meetings as a bot and does not appear as a participant in video calls.

3. Your Responsibilities

Consent and Legal Compliance

Because s1ft does not join meetings as a visible bot, other participants may not be aware that a recording is taking place. You are fully and solely responsible for obtaining consent from every person being recorded before you begin recording. s1ft provides consent disclosure templates you can share with participants, but it is your responsibility to use them and to ensure compliance with applicable laws.

Recording laws vary by jurisdiction. Some regions require only one party to consent (the recorder), while others require all parties to consent. It is your obligation to understand and comply with the laws that apply to you and to every participant in the conversation, regardless of where they are located. This includes but is not limited to federal, state, provincial, and national wiretapping, eavesdropping, and recording consent laws.

You agree not to use s1ft to record any conversation where doing so would be unlawful, and you accept full legal responsibility for any recording you make.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use s1ft. By using the application, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use s1ft for any purpose that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others. This includes but is not limited to unauthorized surveillance, harassment, or any form of recording that violates applicable laws or the reasonable expectation of privacy of others.

4. Recording and Privacy

s1ft captures audio from your Mac's microphone and system audio during meetings. This recording happens entirely on your device. s1ft does not upload audio to any server or third party. Transcription is performed on-device using local speech recognition. Your audio files remain on your Mac under your control at all times.

We have no access to your recordings and cannot retrieve, play back, or share them. You are responsible for the storage, security, and deletion of any recordings on your device.

5. Pricing and Payment

s1ft is sold as a single one-time license.

  • Price: $19 (USD), paid once. The license is for lifetime use and includes every future version of s1ft. There is no subscription, no renewal, and no recurring charge of any kind.
  • Download: The application is free to download from s1ft.app. You can try s1ft with full capability for 14 days. With a valid license, on-device transcription has no limits.
  • No usage charges: There are no per-meeting fees, no credits to buy, and no monthly caps. If you connect your own AI provider for summaries, any charges from that provider are between you and them and are not billed by us.
  • Payment processor: Purchases are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. Paddle appears as the seller on your receipt and on your card or bank statement, collects any applicable VAT or sales tax at checkout, and handles your payment details. We never see or store your card information.
  • Delivery: After payment, your license key is sent to the email address you used at checkout.

Every license purchase can be refunded in full within 14 days, no questions asked. See our Refund Policy for details. Prices may change in the future; a price change never affects a license you have already bought.

6. Data Handling

Audio recorded by s1ft never leaves your Mac, and neither do your transcripts. The s1ft application does not send audio, transcripts, or summaries to us. It has no account system and no connection to a server of ours for your meeting content.

Summaries are optional. If you choose to generate them, you connect your own AI provider (Anthropic or OpenAI with your own API key, or a local model through Ollama or LM Studio). s1ft then sends the transcript text from your Mac directly to that provider. With a local model, the text stays on your Mac. When you use Anthropic or OpenAI, how they handle the text you send is governed by your agreement with that provider and its terms and privacy policy, not by these Terms. s1ft asks for your consent before it first sends a transcript to a remote provider.

We hold only the license record from your purchase: your name, email address, license ID, and Paddle transaction ID, kept for as long as your license is valid so we can resend or retire your key. See our Privacy Policy for details.

We do not sell, share, or provide your data to third parties for advertising or any other purpose unrelated to delivering the service you requested.

7. License and Intellectual Property

s1ft, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is our intellectual property and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the application in accordance with these Terms.

You retain full ownership of your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and any other content generated from your meetings. We claim no rights over your content.

8. Limitation of Liability

s1ft is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are not responsible for any unauthorized, unlawful, or improper recording made using the application. You assume all risk and liability arising from your use of s1ft, including any legal consequences of recording without proper consent.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the application, regardless of the theory of liability. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of s1ft shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using s1ft at any time by uninstalling the application. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to s1ft at our discretion if we believe you are violating these Terms or using the service in a way that could harm us, our infrastructure, or others. Upon termination, your license to use the application ends immediately. Any data stored locally on your device remains yours.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify you through the s1ft application. Continued use of s1ft after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the application.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
